This is an example of a "Diederich" Film poster. It keeps in trend with the war, and although it is only a draft provides an ample visual teaser and insight into the film. The use of black and white connotes old, which it is, and the red accents on the "DIE" and the film 4 logo adds a feeling of fear (mainly as red is usually associated with blood). The white of the snow, and the harsh reds and blacks of the text layers the image in a certain way. Also, if you look on the nazi flag, its main colours were black, white and red.
The text and font is minimal, nothing more needs to be said when the image tells you so much, the phrase "nothing stays hidden" anchors the picture down as you can see some soldiers digging around in the snow. The spacing of the text was a concept thought up to connote a sort of desolate feel. It's a very cold and baron feeling, keeping with the idea of the snow and the fact that what ever these soldiers are looking for, they have a lot of ground to cover.
I believe the poster works because less is more, and the image entices you to want to know more about the story. The fact that its based on WWII themes though its in modern terms adds an air of seriousness to it, and a sense of urgency. It captures the confusion and hostility of war, especially with the cold white snow, and the blood red text sitting on it.
